After a few hours&#8217; drive from Temecula, I drove Ike off the trailer and into my garage. Over the course of a few months, I put a couple hundred miles on him, <a title=\"New Parts Installed\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/13\/new-parts-installed\/\" target=\"_blank\">replaced some parts<\/a>, <a title=\"It\u2019s Alive, IT\u2019S ALIVE!!\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/01\/its-alive-its-alive\/\" target=\"_blank\">rebuilt the cooling system<\/a>, <a title=\"Side View Mirror: Complete\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/08\/23\/side-view-mirror-complete\/\" target=\"_blank\">restored a mirror<\/a> and a <a title=\"Restored plates and covers\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/01\/restored-plates-and-covers\/\" target=\"_blank\">few interior parts<\/a>, as well as just plain <a title=\"Looking for mud in all the wrong places\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/02\/looking-for-mud-in-all-the-wrong-places\/\" target=\"_blank\">having a good time<\/a>. All of this eventually ended up in me starting my restoration of Ike <a title=\"Restoration officially begins (and Ike gets a Christmas gift)\" href=\"http:\/\/kurtisfranklin.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/23\/restoration-officially-begins-and-ike-gets-a-christmas-gift\/\" target=\"_blank\">earlier than planned<\/a>. Originally, I was targeting right around his 1 year anniversary to begin.<\/p>\n<p>So, now 1 year after driving Ike to his new home, I&#8217;ve gotten far enough along in the tear down, that I&#8217;m very close to being able to pull out the engine.
