Looking for mud in all the wrong places

Yesterday the desert was graced with a nice little rain storm. The first thought that crossed my mind: Ugh the dogs are going to get covered in mud. The second thought that crossed my mind: Jeeps like mud!

So early this morning, after cleaning up the dogs following their morning constitutional, I went out to the garage, fired Ike up with a single press of the starter(yay for proper ground straps), and went out to the desert. The sand shoulders and worn away areas near the street were less the promising. I went further in to a natural storm wash and was very disappointed to see that not only was there no water at the bottom, but there was also no mud. If there was any place I would find mud, that should have been it.

Never one to pass up a little offroading, I continued on through the desert. Found some more interesting trails and even passed someone else out either doing the same as me, or maybe they were out there illegally dumping. During the trip I stopped a few times to get some pictures of Ike against the stormy sky.

I may not have found any good mud puddles to go through, but it was still fun taking the Jeep out. After the photo shoot it was time to go in. The temp had risen and the humidity set in.
