…I brought home a little 60-year-old Jeep on a trailer borrowed from a friend. After a few hours’ drive from Temecula, I drove Ike off the trailer and into my garage. Over the course of a few months, I put a couple hundred miles on him, replaced some parts, rebuilt the cooling system, restored a mirror and a few interior parts, as well as just plain having a good time. All of this eventually ended up in me starting my restoration of Ike earlier than planned. Originally, I was targeting right around his 1 year anniversary to begin.
So, now 1 year after driving Ike to his new home, I’ve gotten far enough along in the tear down, that I’m very close to being able to pull out the engine. Hopefully by the end of the month I’ll be able to start tearing down the suspension and then the real fun begins: putting it all back together.

You have come a long way in a year!
Thanks Joe, I’ve ha d a lot of fun getting to this point. Can’t wait to start reversing the process.
